TRADE DOLLAR MINTAGE

1873-1885

Trade-Dollar-Value

Trade Dollars were minted to help commercial trading with Asia and was not considered to be used in the United States ciculation. There are many Trade Dollars with weak strikes that can affect Trade Dollar Value. Compare coins of similar grade by checking the obverse Miss Liberty head and star centers. On the reverse, check feathers on the eagle center and the eagles legs. On lower grades below AU, strike is not as important and does not affect Trade Dollar Value. Be aware of counterfeit examples.
